FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in critical but stable condition after a bullet went through his Central Fresno home and hit him in the chest.

The shots were fired just after two Thursday morning at a house near Michigan and Angus.

Police aren't sure if the shots came from someone in a car or someone walking on the street. But, a witness did see a car leaving the area at the time of the shooting.

It's also not known if the victim was targeted.

"Yeah, we don't have suspect information. It's too early at this point. We are trying to piece together all the information locate witnesses talk to neighbors that's where we are at," said Sgt. Steve Card, Fresno Police.

The 36-year-old victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The shooter fired several rounds at the house, but no one else was injured.
