FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- Due to rain at the base, the resort will remain closed on Friday, but they are pushing to open the top of the mountain on Saturday.

The resort says it rained at the base of the mountain, causing damage to the existing snow. But it then cooled off and they received about five inches. At the top of the mountain, they said it was over a foot of snow.

They hope the cold weather expected on Friday will allow them to fire up the snow making equipment and repair some of the damage done by the rain.
