Fresno State professor who made controversial tweet about President on paid leave

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- According to officials at Fresno State, Dr. Lars Maischak has taken a voluntary paid leave of absence for the remainder of the spring semester effective immediately.

Dr. Maischak came under-fire after a tweet about President Donald Trump said, "To save American democracy, Trump must hang." He later apologized for the tweet.

Officials said substitute faculty has been assigned to his five History 11 classes.
