Gas leak shuts down East Central Fresno intersection

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A gas leak shut down the intersection of Chestnut and Olive in East Central Fresno for a couple hours Thursday morning.

Crews said they were digging in the ground around 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning as part of the Re-Charge Fresno construction project when they smelled the gas. Crews called Fresno Fire and shut down northbound Chestnut and East Bound Olive.

PG&E crews were able to close the gas leak and the intersection has been reopened.
