FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One man is in police custody after hitting a man and leaving the scene of the accident.

Police say 22-year-old Jose Hernandez was driving down the road when he hit 58-year-old James Raby while he was riding his bike.

Fresno police say Raby was on his bike near Weber and Princeton Avenues when he was struck from behind by Hernandez's vehicle.

Minutes later officers say they found Hernandez near Ashlan and Blythe when they stopped a car for driving without a tire. After observing the damage to the vehicle they connected Hernandez to the hit and run and took him into custody.

Hernandez is charged with felony hit and run, felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Raby was pronounced dead at the scene.
