Make this dish on Christmas Eve to have a warm casserole ready for Christmas morning.

French Toast Casserole

-1 loaf French Bread

-3 eggs

-1/3 cup sugar

-1 tsp vanilla

-1 1/2 cup milk

-sprinkle of cinnamon

-1/2 cup brown sugar

-1/2 cup flour

-1/2 tsp cinnamon

-1/4 cup butter, melted

-1 cup of blueberries

-maple syrup

-Fresh fruit or berries for garnish

Chop bread into 1 inch cubes and place in a large baking dish.

In a medium bowl combine eggs, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla with a whisk. Stir in milk.

Pour the mixture over the bread and stir to soak all pieces.

In a small bowl stir together brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and butter until it reaches the consistency of wet sand.

Stir the bread and liquids one more time and pat down. Sprinkle the sugar mixture and blueberries over the top. Place plastic wrap on top and let sit in fridge overnight or a minimum of 8 hours.

When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375

Drizzle maple syrup over the top and bake for 40 minutes until golden brown.

Remove and let cool.
