Man found dead in home after shooting in Selma
The search is on for a shooter after a man was found dead inside a home.

SELMA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Close friends say Ricardo Leon loved fast cars and hanging out with his family. The 22-year-old was home with four others Thursday morning when officers say someone came up and began firing.

"We do know that the event occurred at the front door. As to how it started or what the victim was doing at the time- we're not sure," said Selma Police Chief Greg Garner.

Detectives canvassed the neighborhood Thursday for information and surveillance video that may help them solve the case. Many homes in the area have cameras so officers are hoping they captured the suspect arriving and leaving.

Officers have not developed a motive. They are not even sure who the specific target of the shooting was. The home on Chaparal Street is one police are called to regularly. Most of the calls are for loud parties or barking dogs.

However, the homeowner was recently cited through a new city ordinance for having a strong odor of marijuana outside of his home.

"We had responded probably three or four times prior to that and we always start with a warning and then the fines escalate for each occasion. This citation was issued for a $500 fine."

Leon had several medical problems that prevented him from moving quickly. Investigators say he only had partial movement in some of his limbs.

Leon's longtime girlfriend said he loved fixing up his Audi and was a huge Golden State Warriors fan.
