Witnesses told investigators there was a verbal argument before the shooting.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 17-year-old boy in the murder of a 39-year-old man in Ivanhoe on Tuesday night.

Deputies found the victim dead at a home near Azalea Avenue and Road 158 just after 9 pm.

Witnesses told investigators an argument broke out between the victim and the teenager, which ended with the victim shot multiple times.

Detectives said the suspect ran off from the home with a rifle.

They looked for the suspect all night, until they found he was a home in Visalia, where they took him into custody Wednesday. They found a rifle at the house as well, which they believe was the murder weapon.

It's not yet known the relationship between the suspect and the victim, other than they are family members.
