Visalia man kills small dog and threw it in the street, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is under arrest after police say he killed a small dog and left it in the street. Investigators responded to a call for a man with a gun at a home near Turner and Sweet in Visalia. When officers arrived they found 35-year-old Manuel Mesa standing out front and then running inside.

Witnesses say they saw Mesa stomp and kick a dog before throwing it into the street. He faces multiple charges including felony cruelty to animals and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
