Man pinned against pole after being struck by vehicle in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is recovering in the hospital this morning after getting hit by a truck in Central Fresno.

It happened Sunday night in the area of Blackstone and Olive.

Police say a woman struck the man while he was crossing the road, leaving him pinned between the truck and a light pole.

Officers were driving eastbound on Olive when they saw the truck swerve in front of them, hitting the man in the crosswalk.

Firefighters were called out to free the victim.

Paramedics took him to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries to his legs.

Police arrested and charged the woman with driving under the influence.
