Dozens beautify Southeast Fresno park on Community Action Day
Hundreds spent their Saturday working to beautify their community.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds spent their Saturday working to beautify their community.

Dozens of people came out to Holmes Park in Southeast Fresno as part of Community Action Day. People of all ages planted flowers, raked leaves and helped create a safe, green space for the community.

"The main thing is people recognize that a park is non-partisan. It really is a space for people and the public to interact together, and so making this park look better is in service to the whole community," said Venise Curry with Communities for New California.

The event was put on by Fresno Building Healthy Communities, which works to maintain a healthy place to live.
