FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A former Madera County supervisor accused of child molestation has died.

Harry Baker, 87, suffered a stroke on March 11 while in jail. His attorney says he passed away Friday morning.

Baker's trial was supposed to begin last month, six years after he was charged with molesting a teenage girl from a Gypsy group in a Fresno motel room. The case never went to trial due to Baker's deteriorating health.

In addition to being a former Madera County supervisor, Baker also served as president of Sierra Telephone in Oakhurst.
