Fresno Police say there was some sort of verbal altercation between the victim and three suspects, before one of them fired multiple rounds into his stomach.

A 44-year-old man has been killed after a shooting at Elm and Grove Avenues in southwest Fresno on Friday afternoon.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 44-year-old man has been killed after a shooting in southwest Fresno on Friday afternoon.

Fresno Police say the shooting occurred at Elm and Grove Avenues in the parking lot of the Westside Market just before 2:30 pm.

They are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Police say there was some sort of verbal altercation between the victim and three suspects, before one of them fired multiple rounds into his stomach.

He was rushed to hospital but was declared dead there.

This is Fresno's 28th homicide this year.
