A stray bullet struck a crib with a sleeping baby in Delaware.

WILMINGTON, Del. -- A stray bullet struck a crib holding a sleeping baby during a shooting in New Castle County that sent a man to the hospital.

At approximately 5:47 p.m. Monday, police responded to the unit block of Bedford Drive in Edgemoor Gardens for the report of a shooting.

The victim, a male in his 20s, was transported to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say one of the bullets traveled into a nearby home and struck a portable crib where a small baby was sleeping.

Police say the child was not harmed.

Two suspects allegedly fled on foot from the scene.

No arrests have been made.
