Newborn baby found unattended in stroller in SoCal

SOUTH LOS ANGELES -- A newborn baby was found unattended in a stroller at Vermont Avenue and Dana Street in South Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The infant's umbilical cord was still attached. Responding paramedics transported the baby to a local hospital at about 1 p.m. The infant was said to be in good condition.

Detectives were searching for witnesses and hoping to collect surveillance footage from nearby businesses.
