Officers save passenger in fatal crash near Reedley

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Reedley Police officers saved a man from a burning car after a deadly collision Saturday morning.

Investigators say a Corvette crashed into a big rig at Manning and Lac Jac, just outside Reedley city limits. Officers tried to put the fire out with extinguishers, but when those ran out, they braved the flames, pried open a door and pulled out a passenger. Both he and the driver of the 18-wheeler should be okay, but the crash killed the Corvette's driver.

The CHP is investigating what caused the crash.
