FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities say a group of suspects broke into Ahwahnee Middle School on Escalon and First around 12:30 a.m. Friday. They say the suspects took backpacks full of mini laptops.

Police set up a perimeter in the area and were later able to find the three suspects walking from the school. They also found the stolen items as well as a hammer and hatchet they believe were used for the crime.

Backpacks and duffle bags full of stolen laptops were recovered from three suspects, police say.

"It's very rewarding when we can actually recover some of the property that is taken because it is obviously going to interfere with the students who are actually using these things everyday in class," said Sgt. Richard Brown, Fresno Police.

The three suspects -- 18-year-old Armando Magana, 18-year-old Isaiah Rucks, and a juvenile suspect -- have been arrested and face burglary charges.
