The nation's largest savings and loan says it will close 190 offices nationwide, including 12 loan centers in the Bay Area.
A spokeswoman for the Washington Mutual says 110 jobs will be eliminated with the closure of a retail home loan fulfillment center in Pleasanton.
Two home loan centers in San Francisco and San Jose will also be shut down, as well as one center each in Dublin, Lafayette, Los Altos, Oakland, Pleasant Hill, San Bruno, San Rafael and Saratoga.
