LL Bean plans to open a store in the northwest suburbs. This will be the first Midwest store for the retailer. The company is based in Maine and does much of its business through catalogs and on the internet.
The 30,000-square-foot outlet will be located at the Arboretum in South Barrington. It will be LL Bean's seventh "green" store, using recycled materials as well as energy-efficient cooling, heating and lighting systems.
