Environmental Group May be Responsible for Arson

Seattle 3/3/2008 Authorities said a sign found at the scene had the initials of the Earth Liberation Front. Fire officials said the fires are suspicious because they were set in multiple places in separate houses, which were not occupied. Some of the houses were still under construction.

Rick Eastman of the Snohomish County Fire Department said, "We're almost certain it was arson. There was a sign left out here by an environmental group condemning the construction, so that gives us an idea what we're dealing with."

The Earth Liberation Front is a loosely organized collection of radical environmentalists authorities claim is responsible for other arsons in the Northwest.
