Anyone who drinks the bacteria could develop diarrhea and nausea, and if it goes untreated, it can kill you.
The public utility manager is now putting chlorine in the water system, but he won't know for sure if the water is safe until tests come back on Thursday.
Until then, he says nobody should drink the water or use it to wash dishes.
