Retired Judge Home Invasion in Fresno

3/5/2008 Fresno It happened in this upscale northwest Fresno neighborhood near Alluvial and Marks.

Sheriff's officials say the elderly couple heard a knock at the door, opened it, and that's when two armed men stormed in. "When they got inside they restrained both people. They ended up stealing cash, jewelry, and two handguns," said Chris Curtice with the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.

Action News has learned the victim is the Honorable Robert Martin, a retired Fifth District Court of Appeals judge.

Investigators say the suspects were wearing dark clothing and disguised their faces with bandanas. Officials say they ransacked the home for about 10 minutes before stealing the victim's car and leaving the area.

Investigators will not say whether the retired judge knew the suspects.
