16 Dead in Iraq Roadside Bus Bombing

Meanwhile, the U.S. Military said three U.S. soldiers were killed yesterday by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad, while five others were killed in a suicide attack in the capital.

The U.S. military said the attacks are the deadliest in the past eight months. It was eight months ago 30-thousand extra U.S. soldiers were deployed to Iraq in "the surge."

Troops have been interacting directly with locals. "A big part of the effort over the last year has been to determine, who is reconcilable, who is literally willing to put down his rifle and talk," said General David Petraeus.

Military figures show attacks are down 75% percent. There were 77 car bomb attacks in February 2007, compared to 23 a year later.
