Police arrested his father several hours earlier. Charles Bailey was already facing charges of attempted murder and kidnapping. Officers say Charles Bailey nearly killed his girlfriend during a fight in El Dorado County, then took off with his son.
He drove about an-hour-and-a-half to Tuolumne County before they caught him. But his son wasn't with him.
An Amber Alert went out this morning all over California and drivers could see it on signs like this one on Highway 99 near Herndon. But it was too late for Andrew Bailey. Police think his father dumped him while he was trying to escape.
