Investigators Examine Fresno County House Fire

3/24/2008 Fresno, CA Arson investigators spent Sunday night looking for clues after somebody broke into a house and set fire to it. It happened Sunday night near Dinuba and Academy in Fresno County.

Fresno County Firefighters said the arsonist set fire to a house and a barn in the backyard. Firefighters fought hot spots from the roof of the house, and they saved most of it. But the barn was destroyed.

Investigators said the arsonist started by setting fire to two different areas of the house, and then moved on to the barn. "We have two confirmed fires at this location inside residence we have confirmed what appears to be a break in to the residence no one was home at the time of the fire," said Mike Bowman with the Fresno County Fire Department.

Firefighters say it looks like someone broke a window and ripped open a screen door to get into the house.
