Government officials say thousands of people don't file taxes and many don't have to because of special circumstances, like not making enough money. That means those people won't receive a stimulus check unless they fill out a 1040A form.
Irma Loquez, filing 1040A, says "I didn't think I was gonna get anything at all but then I was surprised when I got it in the mail so that's why I called in."
Deborah Meador, IRS Supervisor, says "We're hoping I guess, the economy is hoping that they spend the money."
IRS workers will also visit nursing homes and similar places to help people get their checks.
The help offices will open again April 12th.

To qualify, people must have at least $3,000 in earned income and certain benefits from Social Security, Veterans Affairs and Railroad Retirement.
