A Long Beach hospital may be stepping in to get Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Center's doors reopened.County officials are negotiating with privately run Pacific Hospital to take over the Willowbrook medical center.

L.A. County Supervisor Yvonne Burke says negotiations could take about two months and that King could be taking patients again by February.

The hospital was shut down in 2007 after federal authorities withheld funding based on failed inspections and patient deaths.
