The 11-year-old's father accidentally backed over him while mowing their backyard earlier this month. A family friend says Tye is staying positive and hopes to be fitted for a prosthetic foot in about six to eight weeks.
Tye posted a message to his website yesterday thanking the community for an outpouring of support.
