Fresno Immigrant Rights Activist March

Fresno, CA Movement leaders gathered in the Fulton Mall to encourage people to join the march planned for Thursday May first. On may-day last year, police estimated about 35-hundred people marched through Fresno. Leaders hope this year's heightened political awareness will bring even more people out.

"This is a big year, ah, the presidential election, there are bills in Congress, um, that need to be talked about and discussed."

This year's theme is: "today we march, tomorrow we vote." the Fresno march is just one part of a nation-wide effort to draw attention to immigrant rights issues.

The event will begin at 3pm in the Fulton Mall. The march will begin at 5:30 pm. Marchers plan to go north from the free speech area to Fresno St. over to O Street. down to Tulare Street. Then back to the Fulton Mall.
