Authorities in Lake County, Illinois, have ordered a 19-year-old Zion man held on 2-million-dollars bond in the apparent beating death of his infant daughter. Prosecutors told a bond hearing Saturday that Larnell Mace was angry that his girlfriend had given birth to a girl rather than a boy. They said he beat four-month-old Jasmine Mace Wednesday when she wouldn't stop crying.

An autopsy established the baby died from blunt force trauma that caused massive internal damage.

Prosecutors say Mace could get life in prison if convicted of murdering the baby.
