Carrizales Family meets with Police Chief

4/24/2008 Fresno, CA Jesse Carrizales' family sat down with Chief Jerry Dyer to discuss the events that led to the shooting of the 17-year old.

Carrizales was shot after police say he attacked a campus officer from behind with a bat.

After the meeting, family members met with Fresno Unified officials. The family didn't want to talk on camera but told Action News they hoped to convey to officials that Carrizales was not a monster.

Manuel Nunez, Fresno Unified Trustee, says "Probably the most important thing for them and it would be for me too is that he be cleared of being a demon in terms of the eyes of the public."

Family members told school district officials the meeting was cordial and respectful. They said the dialogue was positive and questions brought up that the district could not answer they promised to research and get back to them.
