Fresno's Matt Garza, the former Washington Union and Fresno State standout, threw 7 innings of scoreless ball at the New York Yankees.Garza benefited from three double plays in the game but Johnny Gomes drove in a pair of runs for Tampa Bay.

In the end, Garza's effort fell short as Tampa Bay won their fifth game in a row, beating New York 7 to 1.
