The problem happened at Evergreen Cemetery, right near Childs and B Street. It's a cemetery with a troubled history.
The former president of Evergreen surrendered its operating license last June. Since then, volunteers have gone in to mow the lawn and pull weeds. They say hundreds of headstones would have disappeared without their help.
The place is in the foreclosure process now, but a lawsuit is holding up an auction on the property.
