Study: Teens have issues giving blood

5/21/2008 The study is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

It found that eight to 11 percent of teens 16 years and older experience problems with bruising or even fainting.

That's compared with just three percent of people over the age of 20.

Researchers are unsure why, but the AMA says it is a cause for concern, given the constant need for blood donations.
