Teens Arrested for Breaking into Elementary School

6/1/2008 Fresno, CA Officers say two kids broke into Ericson elementary late Saturday night. They caught one kid running away from the school, into the neighborhood.

They needed a police helicopter to find the other teen hiding out on top of a roof.

Police say the kids had stolen a lizard that served as a classroom mascot, as well as some school supplies.

Three weeks ago, teens broke into the Robinson elementary campus in northeast Fresno. They broke a window to the cafeteria and set off an alarm. Police caught four suspects before they left the school.

And the week before that, police arrested two more teens who had broken into Hidalgo elementary. Again, a burglar alarm sent police to the school and they caught the suspects trying to run away.
