Low Voter Turnout Expected Today

6/3/2008 Fresno, CA Election officials say with this statewide primary so close to February's presidential primary, and another election in November, voters are fatigued and not expected to turn out in droves.

Victor Salazar, Fresno Co. Elections Clerk, says "Well actually we have three statewide elections within a nine month period. That's an unprecedented amount of elections. That has a consequence."

Salazar says, out of the more than 150-thousand ballots sent out to Fresno County voters, fewer than 55-thousand have been returned.
