Plane makes emergency landing in Cairo

6/15/2008 CAIRO, Egypt The official says the EgyptAir A320 Airbus plane made the landing after the pilot had problems with the landing gear.

The pilot was instructed to circle the airport several times to exhaust fuel before landing. The right tire of the plane burst during the landing and the plane was engulfed in smoke, but ultimately there were no injuries, said the official.

He spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

The plane was flying from Dusseldorf, Germany.
