Tropical Storm Cristina forms off Mexican coast

6/28/2008 MEXICO CITY Miami's National Hurricane Center says the storm does not threaten land. It is the third named storm of the eastern Pacific hurricane season.

Cristina was located Saturday morning more than 1,100 miles (1,795 kilometers) southwest of Baja California's southern tip with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph). Forecasters say the storm was moving out to sea at 7 mph (11 kph).

It joins Tropical Storm Boris, which was 615 miles (990 kilometers) off the Baja tip moving out to sea at 13 mph (20 kph) with winds of 50 mph (85 kph).
