Kern County Fire Threatens Homes

People could soon be forced to leave their homes because of a wildfire burning south of Lake Isabella in Kern County.Officials are recommending evacuations.

About 400 firefighters battled the flames on Monday and more crews should be on the front lines later Tuesday morning.

Thousands of acres are burned and flames are dangerously close to dozens of homes. Authorities are recommending evacuations in Valley View off Saddle Springs Road, Red Mountain Estates, Claraville, Rocky Point, and Liebel Ranch.
