Two Deaths Blamed on Heat Wave

The heat wave is being blamed for a Modesto woman's death and a truck driver in Kern County.Police said the 91-year-old woman died yesterday in her mobile home from heat stroke. Authorities said her air conditioner wasn't working.

Her death comes as health officials in Kern County confirm a man died Wednesday because of the heat.

Abdon Felix was found slumped over the wheel of a company truck yesterday on Highway 99 near Delano. The 42-year old had worked in a vineyard that morning.
