Los Banos police and the Merced County Sheriff's Department are concerned because last month a biker shootout turned a city park into a war zone. It started when a group of Hell's Angels confronted a group from the rival motorcycle group called the Mongols.
But the first day of the Los Banos Rally drew very few people. But there were dozens of law enforcement officers, many decked out in military style combat uniforms. Vendors complained the cops outnumbered those attending the rally.
Organizer Steve Lopez says he expects the crowds to arrive Saturday and Sunday.
