They have been watching a pair of cows take showers for the past two months.
The researchers have even rigged platforms that allow the cows to turn on the water anytime they get hot.
It has been known for years that cooling cows with water helps increase milk production - this study takes dairy research one step further.
"Some of the things we're interested in is which part of the body they wet, and we're finding they're getting their head and neck under the water," Professor Cassandra Tucker said.
Surveillance equipment records the cows' every movement; the researchers have seen them take showers for up to seven hours at a time.
