Tuesday, two engines and four cars, including a tanker carrying liquid petroleum gas, jumped the track not far from the BNSF rail yard.
The derailment stopped AMTRAK travel between Fresno and Hanford. AMTRAK brought in charter buses to move passengers between the two cities.
"They told us all to get off the train and get onto the buses. Everybody didn't seem too happy about it," said passenger Courtney Daniel.
"I called twice to get a leaving time from here and an arrival time in Hanford. It didn't saying anything about taking buses instead of trains," said passenger Maryanne Price.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the train to jump the tracks.
