In July, Brenda Critizer, one of the founders of Women with a Purpose, presented Julie Ahmaday with a check for $764.00. Julie's husband is battling brain cancer. In June Catherine Koelewyn's family was chosen by Women with a Purpose.
Catherine Koelewyn remembers the phone call, "Hello Catherine. This may be the strangest phone call you've ever received ... but would you please give me a few seconds?"
Charlotte Bavarro was on the other end of the phone. She and her close friend Brenda Critzer founded women with a purpose.
Charlotte Bavarro says "Being moms, and we have our own businesses, it wasn't practical to do something huge ... so we decided to do something small as individuals and ask other women to join us and our little something turns into something big."
The gift came as a complete blessing to the Koelewyn family their daughter, Audra, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at age three. The Hanford family has had to travel back and forth to /*St. Jude's Hospital*/ in Memphis Tennessee.
Catherine Koelewyn was overwhelmed by the generosity of Women with a Purpose. She has still never met Charlotte Bavarro or Brenda Critzer, but someday she hope to start a Women with a Purpose group of her own in the South Valley.
