Valley Delegates at DNC

August 24, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
Several democratic delegates have left the valley this weekend for what they're calling a historic convention. They'll be part of the California delegation inside the convention center. And they'll watch Obama's big speech at Invesco Field on Thursday.

Valley delegates say that speech will hold a lot of appeal to valley voters. Dezie Woods-Jones, Obama delegate, says "There are so many issues that we in the valley have in common with people across the nation. I mean, we all know there's a major recession, the housing market is critical, health care is hurting -- especially in the valley where we have a lot of transient workers. There are a lot of issues that he's going to address that are significant to the region."

Clinton won the California Primary back in February, but even her delegates say they're really looking forward to the speech on Thursday.
