The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Brockett served as the Councilman for Reedley's first district and was head of the Reedley Sequoia Safety Council.
He was elected to the council four years ago and was running for re-election this November.
The 44 year old was found dead at his home early Monday morning.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
