It happened near Visalia at Avenue 272 and Drive 88 around 5:00am. Investigators said the bicyclist pulled in front of a pickup truck on Drive 88 and was hit.
He died after being thrown off of his bike.
"The bicyclist didn't have any lights on his bike...wasn't visible until he was right in front of him at about 5 feet," said Jeff Rhea with the CHP.
The driver of the truck was leaving his home for work in Firebaugh when the accident happened. Officials said he is doing okay.
