Fresno Crime Meeting

Fresno, CA, USA Fresno police held a community meeting at Lafayette Park. On Monday, 15-year old George Castillero was stabbed and killed near the park. Thursday night, officers tried to encourage the community to band together to help report and prevent crime.

Families at the meeting say their first priority is keeping their children safe. "It scares me. My daughter likes to come down here. And I do see a lot of kids down here, and I wonder why they're not at school," said Fresno resident Michael Chavez.

Police said neighborhood councils can help residents come together to keep crime down. A similar meeting will be held Tuesday in southwest Fresno, another area plagued by violence recently.
