Johnson-Klein joined the Lawton Fort Sill Cavalry in July, a month after she reached a $9-million dollar settlement with Fresno State.
She sued the university for sex discrimination. A jury had originally awarded the coach a $19.1-million dollar judgment following an, eight-week trial.
Johnson-Klein said she's stepping down to focus on her family and to write a book that will chronicle her life and career.
