Waldron Murder Charges

Fresno, CA, USA David Mugridge said, "He's worked at my office since 2002, and I've never known him to be a violent person." Mugridge calls Waldron both a friend and colleague. Mugridge was with Waldron when he turned himself into police. Police say Waldron admitted he killed and dismembered a man on Friday at his apartment in West Central Fresno. Mugridge painted the case as self defense, "An individual unknown and unwanted by Mr. Waldron forced his way into his way into his house without permission, demanded certain things ... cigarettes, alcohol and refused to leave."

Police say on Saturday the suspect drove two hours away. He dug a shallow grave and buried the remains deep in the Fresno County Mountains near Courtright Reservoir.

Action News was there late Tuesday afternoon as investigators removed the body. It was discovered in shallow grave and in several bags. Waldron worked with Mugridge as a paralegal, and now his former boss will help with his defense. Mugridge said, "If it hadn't been for the fact that Mr. Waldron voluntarily came forward, this individual could still be lying in his grave and it's very possible that no one would even know this incident had taken place."

Waldron will make his first court appearance Thursday morning. He also has a criminal record, arrested for assault and cultivating marijuana. He is currently on probation for driving under the influence.
